The talk “Extreme Weather” is held by Dr Emily Shuckburgh who is a climate scientist and deputy head of the Polar Oceans Team at the British Antarctic Survey, which is focused on understanding the role of the polar oceans in the global climate system. Follow this link for more information. The Darwin Lecture Series is co-convened by CSER Research Associate Julius Weitzdoerfer this year.
The Darwin College Lectures take place on Fridays during Lent term (January to March). The lectures are given at 5.30 p.m. in The Lady Mitchell Hall, Sidgwick Avenue, with an adjacent overflow theatre with live TV coverage. Each lecture is typically attended by 600 people so you must arrive early to ensure a place.
