This workshop will bring together a group of interdisciplinary researchers, humanitarians, and disaster risk management practitioners to examine the true extent of our vulnerability to volcanic eruptions and to identify how we can improve our resilience through increasing preparedness across pertinent sectors, from food security to risk financing and media engagement. The workshop will present some of our latest understanding of the risks posed by volcanic hazards to society through a series of introductory talks and discussion groups, considering the potential financial implications, threats to global food security and the challenges of risk communication.
This workshop is a closed event, hosted by Dr Lara Mani and Dr Pablo Suarez.
