Against the backdrop of the climate emergency and rising geopolitical tensions, humanity is expanding into space and developing the new space economies. There is more potential than ever for catastrophe across the interconnected domains of space, sustainability, and security. However, there are also opportunities to mitigate risks, and work towards a future that facilitates a spacefaring humanity.
These two online sessions build on interests from CSER’s research affiliates, including Tom Cernev. The objective of these sessions is to gather expert views on how space economies can benefit or put at risk the current SDG targets, as well as whether there should be the equivalent of an SDG for space.
The sessions are held under Chatham House rule. Results will be published in a peer-reviewed perspective piece.
