Des Browne has held a number of ministerial posts. In particular, he was Secretary of State for Defence (2006 – 2008). Currently a member of the House of Lords, Des is also the Vice-Chair of the Nuclear Threat Initiative and Co-founder and current Chair of the Executive Board of the European Leadership Network.
