Tom has degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Theoretical Physics from the University of Adelaide, and a Masters in Engineering from the University of Cambridge. He has published on the Sustainable Development Goals and how these relate to global catastrophic risk, and authored a contributing paper to the United Nations Global Assessment Report 2022. He is interested in all aspects of sustainability, climate change, and how effective policy can be created to reduce risk. Currently at CSER he is researching planetary boundaries and global catastrophic risk, and how similar frameworks to the planetary boundaries can be developed.
